I just read that you're not going to finish Luna's Quest. That's okay. I really liked seeing the pictures you had about it. It was fun to talk about. :)

It's sad to know that Luna's Quest won't see the light of day.
But you still have your SMAS Mod to fall back on.
So cheer up! All is not lost for your creative side.

Also, King Sombra for Bowser!

My creative side is going to The Underworld's Cello. That will show how great AGS is at making pony games.

Ok two questions. 1. Are you the one making "Luna's Quest"? 2. If you are is there a time frame that you plan on releasing the game for others to play? Just wondering?

Yes, and no because it is cancelled. So sorry.

Cancelled?? ...:( that bites, from the little bit that I saw on youtube it looked like a really good game that had a lot of great work and effort put into it. *siiigh* It's ok, I'm sorry that your not going to be able to finish it. Good job on what you've done so far though. (the images and what-not you have in you folder.)

It's not my fault. I wanted to continue. I'm just paranoid that upon close to completion, Hasbro would sic their lawyers at me.

That shouldn't really be a problem, as long as you give Hasbro their due (saying you don't OWN MLP:FIM) and all the other legal blah blah blah. It should be no problem. This game isn't being made for profit is it? If not for money, the game just being made for the fun of it, then there "should" be no problem. ....You weren't using actual material from the show were you??

It's not enough to give credit where it is due. I've heard stories of nonprofit games that go down in flames.

There is even a story where a game maker contacted Hasbro to give them permission and they c&d'd them on the spot.

It's not worth the risk of very little reward.

That's my decision.

if you ask and they don't answer or say yes, they legally have to let you finish it if they try and stop you near completion. I am relatively well versed in both copyright (which won't help them at all if you made or have permission to use the assets) and trademark law, so, I know what I'm talking about.

They also can't stop you if you finish and release it before them noticing. At that point, it's simply a matter of someone having downloaded the thing.
